He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Horton McLain and Esther Gladys McLain (Smith); his wife Violet; his son Alfred Edward McLain Jr; his grandchildren, Douglas Aaron McLain and Mirasa Leo McLain; and his great grandchild Lincoln Charles McLain.
He is survived by: his siblings, James Wallace McLain, Ivah Loraine Voorhees (McLain) and John Milton McLain. He is also survived by 5 children, 16 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
