He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley M. Hortness and Velma Ruby Virdell Hortness; his daughter Jeannette Hortness; and his siblings, Melvin, Garland, Darrell, Orval Hortness and Mary Helen Hortness.
He is survived by: his children, Estelle Love (Stan), Raymond Hortness Jr. (Kathy), Andre Hortness, Roy Hortness (Heather), Donald Hortness, David Hortness and James Hortness; his grandchildren, Jessica Key, Shannon Love, Michelle Menifee, Michael Hortness, Cherie Hortness Dubroc, Dalton Hortness, Samantha Hortness, Sarah Hortness, Taylor Hilton, Hunter Hortness, Laramie Hortness, Myrissa Manuel, Sommer Hortness and Zachary Hortness; his sisters, Dorothy Lair of Montgomery, TX, Ruby McAlpine of Corpus Christi, TX and Annette Autry of Edinburg, TX; and his grandsons, Mike, Christian and Riley Hortness. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
