It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Ray Kirkland Jr. of Leakey, Texas, who passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Michael Ray Kirkland, Sr.; and his grandparents, Earl, Dorothy Kirkland, Bill and Bertie Williamson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jessica Caitlin and Hannah Kirkland; his mother Faye Kirkland; and his siblings, Sidney "Bubba" Padgett (Sherry), Judy Keener (Dalva), Barbara Padgett (David), Billy Padgett (Sheila) and Michelle Clark (Aaron). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, his daughters suggest honoring Mikey by sporting a mullet for a day, performing a random act of kindness, or contributing to a charity that supports fishing without hooks, car repairs for the mechanically challenged, or the preservation of classic hairstyles.
