It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Yarbrough III of League City, Texas, born in Athens, Alabama, who passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Murray Yarbrough II and Sarah Orman Yarbrough of Decatur; and his brother Charles Kent Yarbrough of Cumming, Georgia.. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Nelson of Newport, Tennessee; his children, Sara Kurlansik (Stuart) of Philadelphia, Walter Murray Yarbrough IV (Janet) of Houston, David Yarbrough (Rene) of Youngsville, Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Simon (Jack) of League City and Andrew Yarbrough (Wendy) of Dothan, Alabama; his daughter-in-law Terry Yarbrough of Cumming, Georgia; and his sister Avlona Yarbrough Taylor (Douglas) of Boulder, Colorado. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home (475 Cahaba Valley Rd, Pelham, AL 35124).
