She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Ballard and Catharine Shuford Ballard; her husband J. R. "Red" Smith; and her brothers, Rodney, Larry and Billy Ballard.
She is survived by: her sister Sue Ballard Tally; her sister-in-law Janis Burns Ballard; and her nieces and nephews, Scott Tally, Norman Ballard, Greg Tally, Chris Tally, Stacy Wilkie and Heather Abshire. She is also survived by eleven great-nieces and nephews and four great-great-nieces and nephews.
