He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harris C. Foster, Sr. and Doris Bost of Virginia; his wife Lavon Barnes Foster; his son-in-law Adam Thompson; his daughters, Michelle Foster Thompson and Donna Kay Schroeder; his son-in-law Clifford; his grandchildren, Phillip Thompson (Rachel), Caleb Thompson and Shelby Schroeder; his sister Barbara Stambaugh; and his brother-in-law William Stambaugh. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
After his wife's passing to find a connection to community again, Walter found enjoyment learning to dance and prior to COVID restrictions would attend Senior Dances anytime given the opportunity.
