He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Raymond Tiner and Inez Tiner (Hicks); and his brothers, James McRae and Raymond Tiner. He is survived by: his wife Juanita Tiner of LaRue; his sons, Christopher Lee Tiner (Stephanie) of Corpus Christi and Joseph R. Nelson, Jr. (Brenda) of Bryan; his sisters-in-law, Barbara McRae and Judy Tiner; and his grandchildren, Christopher Lane Tiner, Cason James Tiner, Brandon Lee Fleming Nelson and Bret Alan Nelson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Athens Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution Scholarship Fund or the Athens Masonic Lodge #165.
