He is survived by: his wife Martha Leticia Islas; his children, Jonathan Contreras (Karina Villarreal), Daniela Gonzalez (Gerardo Melendez Jr.), Karla Islas (Gilbert Jimenez), Mia Islas (Martin Mata) and Ruby Islas (Jose Galvan); his sisters, Rebecca Sepulveda (Mark) and Alma De La (Bernardo); his grandchildren, Chanel, Christian, Charlie Islas, Gael, Kataleya, Jaziel Melendez, Gilberto Jimenez and Rolando Galvan Islas; and his father Fermin Rolando Islas.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Gamez & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (1029 Bob Bullock Loop, Laredo, TX 78043). A prayer was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery (3600 McPherson Rd, Laredo, TX 78040).
