He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Betty Dearing; his wife Ginger Shorter of Laneville; his father Wallace Shorter (Joyce) of Rusk; his daughter Teri Reynolds (Dan) of Willis; his siblings, Mike Shorter (Renee) of San Angelo, Billy Shorter (Jerri) of Lovington and Sherry Dunlap (Davy) of Lovington; and his granddaughters, Taylor McCarthy and Sierra Ann Reynolds. He was also cherished by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for the purchase of his favorite tree to be planted near his grave site in Lovington, New Mexico made be made to Rita Staton at P.O. Box 714, Lovington, NM 88260.
