He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Godfrey and Ruth Godfrey (Lowery); his wife Edna Godfrey; his daughters, Becky Sexton and Laurie Godfrey; and his siblings, Larry Godfrey and Tessi Herr.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Brannon (Greg) of Richmond and Cindy Joynt of Oakmont, PA; his stepchildren, Wendell Whitten of Henderson, Karen Spurlin of Atlanta and Amelia Johnson of South Carolina; his siblings, Iona Gaddis, Naomi Byrne of Arkansas City, KS and Wayne Godfrey of Newkirk, OK; and his grandchildren, Jessica Godfrey, Sarah Brannon, Joshua Joynt, Aaron Shatney, Anna Whitten, Sarah Murillo, Jesse Whitten, Ryan Johnson, James Spurlin, Jeremy Spurlin, Jason Spurlin and Justin Spurlin. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
