He was predeceased by: his wife Guadalupe Islas Mejia; and his sons, Paul Q. Mejia and Richard Q. Mejia. He is survived by: his children, Santiago Mejia (Josie), Hector Mejia (Connie), Daniel Mejia (Dora), Martin Mejia (Velma), Valentin Mejia, Tomasa Ortiz (Francisco) and Lorena Salas (Rodolfo). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
