She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. Kendell Beck; her parents, Deacon George Dotson and Dovziner Carter Dotson; and her siblings, Bertha M. Dotson, Ziner May Dotson Smith, Ernest Dotson, George Dotson Jr., Clyde Dotson, Nimrod Dotson and Kemp Dotson.
She is survived by: her sister Marilyn Long Johnson (Reginald); her sons, Taft W. Wilson (Aletha) and Edward J. Wilson (Heneretta); her brother Sgt. Raymond T. Dotson (Linda); her grandchildren, Daiquari M. Wilson, Taft Wilson III, Edward J. Wilson Jr., Tiffany Wilson and Rodrick Wilson; and her goddaughter Jordyn Smith.
Beck was elected to the National Educational Foundation Board where she served for 12 years.
