He is survived by: his former wife Armethia Jimmerson; his wife Viola Bradford; his children, Melvin Armstrong (Catherine) of Lancaster, Marcus Armstrong of Grand Prairie, Texas, Loretta Fenceroy (Albert) of Wilmot and Marcia Herod of Lancaster; his grandchildren, Malcolm Armstrong (Kristen) of Austin, Eldridge R. Armstrong of Dallas, Texas, Marcus Armstrong, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, James R. Herod of Dallas, Texas and Letitia Thomas of Dallas, Texas; and his daughter Demmer Franklin of Ft. Worth. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
