He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Dudley and Mable Clara Spurlin Benoist; his brothers, Oliver and Ben E. Benoist; and his children, Rickey Bates of King and Anita Gonzales Benoist of Lampasas.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Benoist; his brother James E. Benoist of Lampasas; his sister-in-law Arlie Lyons (Pat) of Estacada, Oregon; his children, Terry Bates, Clara Allison (Larry) of Lampasas and Benny Benoist; his grandchildren, Justin Bates (Ciara), Cory Bates (Devon), Jennifer Hess (Tony), Christopher Pitts (Kathleen), James Allison (Kristi), John Allison (Kelly), Cayla Windish (Mike) and Branden Benoist (Amanda); and his great grandchildren, Javi, Jace, Bryson, Waverly, Westlyn, Courtney, A. J., Kaleb, Cooper, Kayden, Lily, Ben, Jake, Gabriel, Jack, Ezra, Grant, Gavin, Elizabeth, Miranda, Robert, Ethan and Edward.
