He was predeceased by: his father Malcolm Edward Thompson, Jr.; his brother Jonnie Edward Thompson; his parents-in-law, Elton Edwin Brooks and Ima Jean Millsaps Brooks; and his niece Danielle Marie Spencer.
He is survived by: his mother Barbara Ann Queen Thompson; his wife Diane Brooks Thompson of Lampasas, TX; his siblings, Margaret Thompson Morris (Ray), Angela Thompson Burns (Chuck) and Mike Thompson (Sandy); and his brothers-in-law, Darrell Brooks (Jayme) and David Brooks (Sheila). He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and 16 great-nieces and nephews.
