He was predeceased by: his parents, Bethel Cox and Herman Cox; his brother Stanley Cox; and his granddaughter Jordan Evans. He is survived by: his wife Terri Cox; and his children, Lance Cox (Shirley), Scott Cox (Lesli), Tim Cox (Dana), Ryan Evans (Andi), Kristin Evans (Scott), Jodi Seefeldt (Jeff) and Nicole Ewing (Ron). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
