He was predeceased by: his parents, Ewing Boyd Thorpe and Robbie Ethel Corder Thorpe; his wife Lillian Margaret Clark Thorpe; his sons, Gordon Earl Morris and Kenneth Ewing Thorpe; and his grandchildren, Michele Hodnett, Jay Hensley and Dexter Morris.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carol Speaker and Susan Harvey; and his grandchildren, Sue Ann McAfee, Bo Hodnett, Nicole Hodnett Roe, Michael Hensley, Justin Thorpe, Desiree Thorpe and Arial Beck. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
