He was predeceased by: his parents, Denzel L. Smith and Peggy Wren Smith. He is survived by: his daughter Stephanie Baumann (Ryan) of El Campo, TX; his siblings, Denzel D. Smith (Trisha) of Lampasas, Shelly Samaros (Phil) of Malta, Illinois, Dwight Smith (Mildred) of Lampasas and Marion Lamantia (Matthew) of Georgetown; his close friend Lee Carson; and his aunts, Marie Maldonado of Colorado and Melva Henson (Darrell) of Missouri. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations are made to the American Diabetes Association or Texas Parks and Wildlife.
