He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Elbert and Annie Lee Newberry (Funk); and his siblings, Floyd Holland, Wayne Newberry and Ruby Ray.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Newberry of Lamesa; his daughter Gezelle Newberry of Lamesa; and his grandchildren, Mavrick Staudt of Lamesa and Alexis Hannsz (Sterling) of Waco.
