It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loreto P. Castillo of Lamesa, Texas, who passed away on January 27, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Refugio Castillo and Hilaria Castillo; his son Pedro Castillo; his daughter-in-law Gloria Castillo; his daughter Emily Sanderson; his sons-in-law, Fidel Castilla and Chris Rodriguez; and his siblings, Francisco Castillo, Sr., Marcelino Castillo, Gavino Castillo, Antonio Castillo, Antonia Castillo, Emilia Castillo, Agapita Arredondo, Maria Armendariz, Guadalupe Montemayor and Carolina Vasquez.
He is survived by: his son Federico Castillo; his daughters-in-law, Josie Castillo (Juan Castillo) of Von Ormy, TX. and Porfiria Castillo of Lamesa, TX.; his daughters, Esperanza Rodriguez of Lamesa, TX., Hilaria Castilla of Lamesa, TX. and Refugia Castillo of San Angelo, TX; and his sister San Juana Castillo (Beatrice Hernandez). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Gonzales Funeral Home (310 S Main Ave, Lamesa, TX 79331). A rosary was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel (310 S Main Ave, Lamesa, TX 79331). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (908 S 2nd St, Lamesa, TX 79331).
