He was predeceased by: his parents, Esteban Valenzuela and Perfecta Valenzuela; his wife Anita Valenzuela; his brother Gabriel Valenzuela; his sons, Manuel Valenzuela and Daniel Valenzuela, Sr.; and his grandson Daniel Valenzuela, Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Juan Valenzuela, Jr. (Maria), Gume Valenzuela (Carolina), Virginia Valenzuela, Gustavo Valenzuela, Sr. (Lilia) and Anita Herrera (Martin); and his daughter-in-law Susana Valenzuela. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
