He was predeceased by: his parents, Catarino Ruiz and Maria Tienda Ruiz; and his brothers, Juan Ruiz and Arturo Ruiz. He is survived by: his wife Yolanda Romo of Lamesa; his children, David Ruiz, Jr. (Gabriela) of Odessa, Edward Ruiz (Anna) of Lamesa, Diana Ruiz of Lamesa and Ambrie Vidaurre of Brownfield; and his siblings, Enriqueta Lara (Ismael) of Lamesa and Lorenzo Ruiz of Lamesa. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
