He was predeceased by: his father Lasaro Cervantes, Sr.. He is survived by: his close friend Margie Cervantez of Lubbock, TX.; his mother Geronima Cervantes of Lamesa, TX.; his children, Abel Gutierrez (Esther) of Glen Rose, TX., Isaiah Gutierrez of Lamesa, TX., Anastacia of Lamesa, TX., Eric and Eddie Cervantes; and his siblings, Robert Cervantes, Sr. of Lamesa, TX., George Cervantes of Lamesa, TX., Lasaro Cervantes, Jr. of Lamesa, TX., Tony Cervantes (Madeline Cervantes) of Lubbock, TX., Richard Cervantes of Lamesa, TX., Rita Gomez (Joe Gomez), Grace De La Cruz (Filiberto De) of Fallbrook, CA. and Veronica Hernandez (David Hernandez) of Lamesa, TX.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and numerous friends.

Viewing was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Gonzales Funeral Home (310 S Main Ave, Lamesa, TX 79331). A rosary was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel (310 S Main Ave, Lamesa, TX 79331). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (908 S 2nd St, Lamesa, TX 79331).
