He is survived by: his wife Jean; his daughter Cheri White; his grandchildren, Gordie White III and Matt White; his great grandchildren, Zane and Jett Cafferty; his daughter Denise; and his granddaughter Renai.
Sam loved ballooning, and the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Balloon Federation of America for their youth camps.
