Justin McNair Waldrop was born in Houston, Texas on August 27, 1986 and died on March 23, 2021 in Austin, Texas. He was greeted in heaven by his grandparents Doris and Malcolm M. Stewart and Jeanelle and Walt Waldrop plus his aunt Graeme Stewart Shannon, cousin Scott Shannon and uncle Malcolm McNair Stewart, Jr.
Justin is survived by his parents Carol and Phil Waldrop of Spicewood, Texas; his brother Philip, wife Meghan and daughter Addison of Houston and by his sister Emily and her fiancé John Joubert of Houston. He is also survived by aunt and uncle Anne and Nathan Youngblood of Santa Fe, New Mexico; cousins Stefanie Nielson, husband Kent and their children Mac and Ramsey of Dallas;; Stewart Youngblood and his fiancé Jenna de Castro of New Mexico; Carolyn Jones and her husband Kris and children Jaxson and Conner of Kilgore, Tx; and Dan and Linda Waldrop of Hondo, Tx.
Married in Seattle on February 6, 2017 Justin is survived by his wife Caroline Fourcade of Toulouse, France and her family: Mother Marie-Luce; brother Mathieu and his wife Lyvia and children Leana and Lucas. Brother Romain and sister Charlotte and her husband Yannick and son Tiago; Lilian Verdoux of Toulouse, France. Plus, Marie-Helene and Laurent and children Luc and Manson Massonie-Brouisson of Castlemauron, France. Also, Denise Roucaule and Jean-Jacques Fourcade and his son Anthony. Anne Fourcade and her daughter Sophie. Celine Groussous and Malika Gautier of Toulouse, France.
Justin was a sixth generation Texan and a descendant of SW Blount of Nacogdoches, a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence. Justin loved his family land in Jack County and spent many good times with his family there hiking, exploring, playing paint ball, shooting trap and target practice. He was an avid gun enthusiast and an accomplished marksman.
His true passion lay with European history. He had extensive knowledge of World War I and World War II making his history degree from Seattle University a good fit. He understood the value of the study of history. Justin and Caroline traveled extensively in France, Spain and Switzerland. He never tired of exploring European historical sites, beaches, mountains, museums and churches.
Justin had a great sense of humor and quick wit. Most importantly he was a gentle soul, kind and compassionate. In the words of good friend, Lee Hirsch, "he was a true Southern gentleman."
