With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jim Mead of Lake Kiowa, Texas, born in Amarillo, Texas, who passed away on March 29, 2022 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Opal Ritter Mead and James Earl Mead, Sr.; and his sister Jane Mead Kressin. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Buchanan Mead; his daughters, Lisa Espe of Amarillo and Kristen Schmidt (Todd) of Irving; his stepsons, Ryan Wingate of Austin and Andrew Wingate (Jessica) of Chicago, Illinois; his grandchildren, Emily, Jackson Espe, Mikela Howard and Isabella Wingate; his stepgrandchildren, Alex and Josie Powell; his sisters, Peggy Gardner of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Marilyn Sherwood of Amarillo; the mother of his children Terry Mead of Amarillo; and also Todd. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made in his honor to Home Hospice of Gainesville, Wounded Warriors or any other military organization or your choice.
