He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Loftus and Anna Loftus (Mushill); his siblings, Raymond Loftus and Paula Borg; and his grandson Raymond Loftus.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Rickert; his children, Eileen Cowart (Grady) of Lubbock, TX, Thomas Loftus (Laura) of Sweeny, TX, Terry Loftus (Robin) of Lake Jackson, TX and Tim Loftus (Cindy) of Fulton, MO; his siblings, Patricia Fultz and William Loftus of Granite City; and his grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Joshua Loftus, Krystin Herns, Kristopher Cowart, Thomas Loftus, Colin Cowart, Benjamin Loftus, Lawrence Loftus, Timothy Loftus and Shelby Loftus. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
