He was predeceased by: his parents, Vallie Mae and Lee Edward Perkins; and his sister Hazel Holder. He is survived by: his wife Janice Perkins; his sons, Ricky Perkins (Neva), Red Perkins (Charlene) and Craig Perkins (Sondra); his grandchildren, Christopher Perkins (Rachel), Paul Perkins (Tanith), Ashley Seale (Mark), Lauren Logan (Chris), Austin Perkins (Johanna), Sam Perkins and Olivia Perkins; his great grandchildren, Reagan, Reid, Jackson, Lane, Grant, Parker, Perry, Luke and Oliver; and his brothers, Lee William Perkins, Robert Perkins and Johnny Perkins. He is also survived by several extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in Richard's honor.
