It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rene Pinon Mata (Lake Jackson, Texas), born in Mission, Texas, who passed away on January 20, 2019, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Mata and Guadalupe Mata; his sons, Adam Mata and Stephen Joseph Mata; and his brother Carlos Mata.
He is survived by: his wife Zita Mata; his children, Christopher Rene (Michelle), Benjamin Phillip Mata (Rebecca) and Laura Rodriguez (Juan); his grandchildren, Ashley Marie, Jordan Joel, Courtney Marie, Jarred Christopher, Joseph Mateo, Jaklyn Grace, Tristyn Monroe, Dallas Camille, Adam Stephen Mata, John Anthony, Michael Alexander, Ashley Isabelle Rodriguez, Justin Angel and Jakob Anthony Rios; and his great grandchildren, Jazlyn Marie, Jaylee Marie Llano, Ulises Joel, Abrielle Olivia Mata, Kaidence Marie Wallace, Nathaniel Dash, Noah Dash Del Hierro and Leona Simone Stroman. He is also survived by three brothers; five sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
