He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Dorman and Erika Dorman; and his mother-in-law Cemonia Williams. He is survived by: his sons-in-law, Robert D'Alfonso and Landon Depue; his wife Phyllis; his daughters, Allison D'Alfonso (Robert) of Austin, TX and Andrea Depue (Landon) of Temple, TX.; and his grandchildren, Joseph D'Alfonso, Tenley D'Alfonso, Chandler Depue, Logan Depue and Caleb D'Alfonso.
In December 2014, Carl received the gift of life through organ donation when he had his double lung transplant.
