He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Rivera and Manuela Villarreal Guerrero; his brothers, Juan, Antonio and Roberto Rivera; his wife Maria Teresa E. Rivera; his son-in-law Charles Estes; his brother-in-law Pedro Cantu; and his great grandchildren, Carolyn DeAnna and Alexa Hope Fernandez.
He is survived by: his children, Carlos Rivera Jr., Juan Eduardo Rivera (Linda), Albert Rivera (Lucy), Larry Rivera (Eliza), Victor Jaime Rivera (Erica) and Diana Estes; his stepchildren, Maria Zulema Torres (Roberto), Myra Valdez, Abel Martinez (Brenda), Arturo Martinez (Margaret) and Jose "Butch" Martinez (Sandy); his siblings, Jose Rivera (Lucy), Vicente Guerrero (Maria) and Guadalupe Cantu; and his sister-in-law Cresencia C. Rivera. He is also survived by 44 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren; several nephews, nieces and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Carlos V. Rivera to Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S. Longoria St., Port Isabel, TX 78578.
