He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Myrtle Lou Modawell (Hinkle); his son Shannon Ray; and his brothers, Gilbert and Ikie.
He is survived by: his former wife Joyce Sweep (Joy); his wife Joy Modawell; and his siblings, Emma Ruth Boren (Charles) of Lubbock Tx, John Arnold (Gisela) of Redmond and Ronald Dean (Patricia Ann) of Wimberly, TX. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Due to the COVID 19 restrictions, family and friends will not be allowed at the graveside, and there will not be a military presentation or graveside service. When the current Texas COVID19 restrictions are removed, a memorial service with military honors will be held in Lago Vista.
