He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Douglas Jennings and Captola Vivian York; and his sisters, Gina Ann Jennings-Leach and Sharon Parham. He is survived by: his son Brandon Jennings (Cara); and his grandchildren, Hugh, Reese and Cash.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to Friends of the Texas Peace Officers' Memorial, 6200.
