He is survived by: his cousin Stephen Fuller Austin; his wife Sue Sheffield Austin; his stepchildren, Kevin R. Gillis, Jeffrey S. Gillis and Sheryl Burch-Murphy; and his niece Shannon E. Maxey (Graham Maxey). He is also survived by 8 step-grandchildren; many step-great-grandchildren.
