Mary Lou Artz Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 11, 2024, at the age of 85, Mary Lou Artz of La Vernia, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Butler and Mataline Butler. She is survived by: her husband Theodore Artz; her children, Lana Prine and Randy Artz; her grandchildren, Mandy Carlton, Jennifer Orbe, Lauren Hayward, Mataline Parker and Blake Artz; and her brothers, Harold Butler and Lawrence Butler. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sunset Funeral Home (1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home (1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218). Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she played a key role in founding Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Kirby, Texas, remaining active until the COVID outbreak.
