It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Thompson (La Vernia, Texas), born in Yoakum, Texas, who passed away on September 23, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Dewitt and Callie Thompson (Estes); his siblings, Harvey Thompson (Motie), Duck Thompson (Laverna), Buster Thompson (Oletta), Joe Thompson (Mary), Ray Thompson (Tarsey), Gene Thompson (Earlene), David Thompson (Elizabeth), Mae Thompson and Shirley Johnson (Jamie); and his grandson-in-law David Cervantes.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Jean Thompson; his children, Cindy Landgrebe (Richard), Jeff D. Thompson, Joshua D. Thompson and Jason D. Thompson (Jeanette); and his grandchildren, Jill Cervantes, Andrew Landgrebe (Cat), Jordan Landgrebe (Karrigan), Devin Thompson (Leanne), Joshua Thompson (Elizabeth), Kristofer Thompson (Cassandra), Brannon Thompson, Brittany Smith (Jerome), Samuel Thompson (Megan), Justin Thompson, Will Rutledge (Kaiyla) and Ender DeLeon. He is also survived by grandchildren and great- grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
