He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Burgess and Edna Burgess; his wife Rhoda; and his brother Jim (Jenny). He is survived by: his brother Jerry (Dianne) of Plant City, Florida; his partner Lynn Gutierrez of La Marque, Texas; his children, Robin Slater (Dennis) of Katy, Texas and Ron Burgess (Jerilyn) of North Olmsted, Ohio; his grandchildren, Jeff Slater, Ryan Slater (Bianca), Charles Slater, Paul Burgess, Jeff Burgess and Laura Burgess; and his great grandchildren, Jaxon, Brooklyn and Aria Slater. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Parkinson's Foundation or a charity of your choice.
