He was predeceased by: his parents, George Simmons and Elizabeth Simmons (Wolf); his former wives, Pansy Simmons (Franklin) and Janie Simmons (Hunt); and his siblings, Irene Ward, W. G., Horace and Edmund Simmons.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Casey, Randy Simmons and Van (Malee Harris); his grandchildren, Ashlee Casey, Cody Simmons, Michelle Williams and Jason Harris; his great grandchildren, Jazmyn and Tralen Williams; and his sisters, Nita Lockhart, JoAnn Ashley, Ruby Phillips and Charlene Gibbs.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Richard to The National Kidney Foundation.
