He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Thomas Askins; his parents, E. J. Askins and Geneva Rulison Askins; and his brother Robert "Bobby" Askins. He is survived by: his children, Diane Zachry (Earl), Suzanne Neufeld, Sally Askins, James Askins (Wendy), Paul Askins and Clark Askins (Shauna). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
