He is survived by: his father Lucio Hernandez Garcia; his wife Alejandrina Valdez Soto; his children, Luis Hernandez, Jr. (Kimberly) of College Station, Grecia McKenzie (Deon) of La Grange and Andrea Nemer of Colorado; his siblings, Jose Alfredo Hernandez V., Martin Lucion Hernandez V., Maria Elva Hernandez V. of Carmen Hernandez, Maria Dolores Hernandez V. and Carmen Julieta Hernandez V.; his grandchildren, Myah, Mason, Maliyah, Madden, Mariyah and Everlee; his close friend Gustavo Bernan; and his uncle Santos Hernandez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
