He was predeceased by: his parents, George Newell and Viola Minnie Wentzell Watkins; and his brothers, Herbert N. Watkins, Francis Watkins, Wilber Watkins, Clifford Watkins and Rexford Watkins.
He is survived by: his children, Gene Edward Watkins (Joanne Swan) of Portsmouth, VA and Vicki Watkins Mueller (Gary) of Schulenburg; and his grandchildren, Jayme Nichol Watkins of Ashland, VA and Casey Benjamin Mueller (Kelcy) of Pearland, TX. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
