He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Villarreal and Manuela Navarro; his wife Maria Villarreal; his children, Alfredo Villarreal, Juan Angel Villarreal and Elizabeth Lemus; and his sons-in-law, Manuel Estrada and Lupe Rangel.
He is survived by: his son Rene Villarreal. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren.
