He was predeceased by: his parents, Severino Medellin and Eva Medellin; his siblings, Hector S. Medellin and Elida Torres; and his grandmother Benita Garza.

He is survived by: his sisters, Lilia Longoria (Roy), Irma Quintero, Ofelia Ozuna (Oscar), Mary Soto and Sally Fernandez; his brother-in-law Mike Torres; and his aunt Virginia Gonzalez. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.
