It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josephine Ann Rihn Blume (La Coste, Texas), born in Castroville, Texas, who passed away on November 20, 2019, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Jacob Rihn and Mary Anna Hutzler Rihn; her husband Melvin Blume; her sons, Daniel Frank Blume and Darryl James Blume; her son-in-law Lloyd Payne; and her siblings, Anthony Rihn, Denis Joseph Rihn, Jerome B. Rihn (Helen), Marcella Rihn, Inez Harless (O. B.), Adelyn Bippert and Madelyn Murphy (Clayton).
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Persyn (Darson) of San Antonio, David Blume (Renee) of Kountze, Linda Payne of San Antonio and Della Wilham (Forest) of Castroville; her grandchildren, Heather Nicholson, Brandon Payne, Michiel Persyn, Jana Wimer, Keri Fitzpatrick, Jessica Grimmel, Joshua Blume, Amber Foster, Courtney Heiligman, Derek Payne, Karah Akeroyd, Megan Abernathy, Jeffrey Blume and Chance Wilham; her sisters, Eva Ruffin of San Antonio, Mary C. Tschirhart of San Antonio, Barbara Hargroder (Robert) of Fair Oaks and Anna Mae Hitzfelder of La Coste; and her parents-in-law, Joyce Rihn of La Coste, Martha Nocker (J. C.) of Oklahoma and Vernor Bippert of Floresville. She is also survived by thirty great-grandchildren.
