He is survived by: his wife Celia Surita of La Blanca; and his children, Hilda Margarita Hilario (Gregorio) of Edinburg, Jose Pablo Zurita Jr (Melissa), La Blanca, Luis Zurita (Elida) of Mission, Juan Carlos Surita (Maggie) of Edinburg and Edna Surita of La Blanca. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
