Opiela of Kyle, Texas, born in East Liverpool, Ohio, who passed away on August 9, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her siblings, Harry Smith, Warren Smith, Donna Jean McVay and Pauline Pickering. She is survived by: her siblings, Wilson Smith, Robert Smith (Kay), Marilyn Stambaugh (Dan) and Dorothy Reynolds (Norman); and her daughters, Karen Thompson (Curt), Morgan, Janice Herrera and Diane Holdsworth (Ed). She is also survived by her family and friends.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, Betty turned her generous energies into mask making, providing her loved ones with colorful and unique masks that were as much a statement of her love as they were a protective covering.
