He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Floyd and Ethel Mae Smith (Brown); his wife Elizabeth Geraldine "Jerri" Woodall; his siblings, Floyd, Tommy, Terry, Elsie Nugent, Ina Cundiff and Lynda Simpson; and his stepson Ronnie Colwick.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary Cox of Decatur; his daughters, Leslie Duncan (Jeff) of Sanger, Texas and Lisa Henderson (Randy) of Medenhall; his stepdaughter Elizabeth Polly Dunn of Krum; his son Jeff Owen (Barb) of Washington; his stepsons, Michael Colwick (Judy) of Pilot Point and Donnie Colwick (Deanna) of Denton; and his sister Carolyn McClain. He is also survived by other loving family members, amazing neighbors and friends.
