He was predeceased by: his parents, Nellie Jeffcoat Griffith and Steven Charlie Griffith; his children, Sammie Lee Griffith, Jr., Richard Griffith and Pamela Dale Griffith; and his siblings, Lucy Griffith, Charlie Nell Hancock, Willie Mae Gilson, Cletha Hare, Bate Willis, Juidy Touchett, Jack Griffith, Billy Frank Griffith and Johnny Griffith.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Griffith; his children, Phyllis Lynn Griffith of Lumberton, Tana McCormick (Doug) of Honey Island and Stuart Laird (Donna) of Kountze; and his grandchildren, Shayne Griffith (Alice) of Port Arthur, Jenna Griffith of Huntington, Jade Griffith of Huntington, Sarah Tanton (Adam) of Silsbee, Chelsey L. Lambert (Captain Paul B.), Lambert of Enterprise, Alabama, Michaela Garlaska of Lumberton, Luke Laird (Linsey) of Kountze, Katie Kelley (Justin) of Thicket, Derek McCormick (Mayra) of Guanajuato, Mexico, Dusti Joyner (Russell) of Missouri City and Dana Kelly (Alex) of Missouri City. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
