It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Rountree of Kountze, Texas, born in Merryville, Louisiana, who passed away on September 7, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nettie Bryant Rountree and Joseph Nevil Rountree; and his siblings, Kenneth Cain, Margaret Langston, Betty Jo McCabe, Mary Louise Crawford, Nettie Harvey and Barbara Patrick.
He is survived by: his children, Evelyn Marie Olds of Lumberton, Wesley Dale Rountree of Kountze, John Neal Rountree of Kirbyville and Anna Nicole Rountree (Joey Hall) of Kirbyville; his siblings, William Nathan Rountree (Mona) of Nederland, Davis Thomas Rountree of Kountze and Nancy O'Quinn (Simon) of Silsbee; and his friends, Adlai Lack and Leon Reed. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
