He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Hazel McGee; his daughter Cami Cardinale; and his siblings, Pat and Glenn "Boudreaux" Giles. He is survived by: his father Lawrence Earl Giles; his wife Linda; his son Raymond; his daughter-in-law Catrina Giles; his son James; his daughter-in-law Kristen Giles; his grandchildren, Christopher Lewis, Maverick Charles Lloyd Giles, Dallas Giles, Allyson Carroll (Matt) and Audrey Giles; his great grandchild Beckham Carroll; and his sisters, Edna Dunkin (Charles) and Sandra Wheeler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who saw him as a father.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United States Navy Memorial in his honor.
